Allow access to Camera & Flash?
Allow access to Contacts?
Allow access to Location (GPS)?
Why do free apps want your data?
If you are not paying for the product, you are the product.
Many free apps (like flashlights, calculators, or simple games) request access to your Contacts, Location, and Microphone so they can quietly harvest your data in the background. They then sell this data to marketing companies or malicious actors.
The Golden Rule
Only grant a permission if the app absolutely requires it to perform its primary function.
- ✅A Map app needs your Location.
- ❌A Calculator app does not need your Location.
- ✅A Voice Recorder needs your Microphone.
- ❌A Solitaire game does not need your Microphone.
